We are delighted that you are considering joining our nursery.
We appreciate that choosing a nursery can be a daunting experience. Over the next few pages, we shall introduce you to our setting and hopefully give you a helpful insight as you decide whether we are an appropriate fit for you and your child.
As your child begins nursery, we want to make the transition from home to nursery as smooth as possible. We understand the needs of young children and we strive to ensure that each child feels happy, valued and safe whilst in our care.
We also appreciate the importance of quickly establishing strong parental partnerships to support the learning journey and offer reassurance that you’ve made the best choice for your child’s care and education.

Open all year, 7:45AM - 6:00PM (excl. Xmas week). We offer a an out of school club (EFG) for local children and a comprehensive holiday club.

Conveniently located, ABC Children’s Day Nursery is situated just 1.5 miles south of Huddersfield town centre. Our location works well for commuters as well as local parents.
We offer high-quality, affordable pre-school childcare for little ones, aged between 6 months and 5 years old.
Staff are highly qualified and experienced child carers, who are part of a friendly, enthusiastic team. All staff hold certificates in First Aid and Food Hygiene.
ABC Nursery is a Kirklees ‘Gold Award’ holder for healthy choices and nutrition with ‘Five Stars’ awarded for hygiene by the Food Standards Agency.
Your child will be allocated a key carer, whose primary role will be to work closely with your child. Our focused approach provides you with a direct point of contact concerning any part of your child’s welfare and ensures continuity and stability while away from home.
Our most recent Ofsted inspection in February, 2023, awarded our standard of care and education as “Good”.
As well as our registration with Ofsted, we are also members of the National Day Nursery Association (NDNA). Both organisations ensure we are kept fully up to date on curriculum, child legislation and best practice guidance.

The ABC philosophy is to generate the right environment for both children and staff. We provide support and stimulation, rewarded with recognition and appreciation.

Our provision also extends to older children, who attend EFG’s Out of School Club, serving Hillside Primary School. Our Holiday Club is open to all between the ages of 4 – 11 years old.

Children can only leave nursery with a parent or a person nominated by a parent.

Visitors are welcome to our nursery, however, strictly by prior appointment.
Our Team
Our team is made up of highly qualified and well experienced childcare practitioners.
All of our team are either NVQ level 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 qualified, including two graduates and a qualified teacher.
We are dedicated to providing fun, loving and educational care for all children, recognising their individual needs and stages of development.
Team hold professional qualifications well above the Government minimum standard.
Over 65 years combined experience in childcare.
All staff are Paediatric First Aid trained and certificate holders
All staff are Food Hygiene Handler trained and certificate holders
All staff are Kirklees Safeguarding Children trained and certificate holders.

Our qualified nursery staff work hard to ensure that all children can reach their full potential with a unique and individual learning journey. We welcome creative minds, new ideas and passionate personalities.
We offer a comprehensive staff induction programme combined with continued training and development. You will be supported and encouraged to embrace our individualized training that is administered both in-house and via industry recognised providers. You’ll find a welcoming and friendly group that has well-resourced enabling environments where the curriculum is delivered around the children’s interests.
